　　brutashell review - 'Filmed in black and white and primarily spoken in German, it is obvious that Die Farbe did not have a huge budget to work with. Effects are minimal and the cast is utterly unknown. I should point out that these are all good things, and work very much in the film's favour. There is no CGI to rely on, no name actors to carry it. Rather, the filmmakers do the unthinkable: they create a genuine atmosphere of unimaginable dread and unspeakable horror, using shadow, suggestion and rare splashes of that Nameless colour in a few select frames. In short, they did a damn good job. Die Farbe is subtle in its mounting horror, nurturing a dark dread deep in your bowels with every shot. All of the best and most stomach-turningly distressing films I’ve ever seen have come out of Germany: M, The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari, The White Ribbon, and now this one. Leave it to the Germans. We know how to gross you out on the deepest psychological levels.
　　Lovecraft worshippers and devotees of German Expressionism alike, take heed: seek out and view this film at your earliest possible convenience. It’s a dark, noisome little gem that will squirm into your subconscious and lay its eggs in your sanity. Hey, not everyone gets the honour of being a host organism for the Elder Gods, you know.'

　　号称是美国七十年代最非著名的一部科幻电影杰作，导演索尔·巴斯是设计师，还曾两次获过奥斯卡奖，但不知为何这部经典的心理科幻片至今都没出DVD。

　　Phase IV is an incredible full length feature film by Saul Bass who is most acclaimed as a graphic designer who's work can be seen as the opening credits from The Seven Year Itch, Vertigo, West Side Story to Alien, Broadcast News and Casino. Phase IV is a much overlooked film that is very much in the style of The Andromeda Strain. What it perhaps lacks in story, it gains in the photography of the millions of ants.

　　Someone downloads an app on your phone behind your back. It looks like an augmented reality game, but soon you realize it's an app that connects to the world of the dead, which allows you to see the dead through the camera of the phone. On the screen you see a countdown timer starting from 24 hours and before it reaches zero, you have to download the app to someone else's phone to earn 24 more hours. And you must do it every single day. What would you do? Would you continue passing this curse and condemning other people?

　　1974年4月某日凌晨3点左右，纽约长岛阿米蒂维勒区一幢三层别墅发生一起灭门惨案。雷安家的小儿子罗纳德趁着父母兄弟沉睡之时，用来福枪将他们一一射杀。事后罗纳德声称，当时自己的身体被人进入，身不由己犯下滔天大罪。虽然法庭最终为采纳他的辩辞，但关于这栋闹鬼别墅的传言却甚嚣尘上。

　　朱利安（瑞恩·高斯林 Ryan Gosling 饰）十年前因为一起谋杀从美国逃亡泰国避难，和哥哥比利（汤姆·伯克 Tom Burke 饰）在曼谷开了一家拳击俱乐部做幌子进行地下毒品交易。比利因为强奸并谋杀一位年仅十六岁的泰国少女遭到泰国警方的注意。少女的父亲在警察头子Chang（维他亚·潘斯林加姆 Vithaya Pansringarm 饰）的挑唆下杀了比利。朱利安和比利的生母克里斯朵（克里斯汀·斯科特·托马斯 Kristin Scott Thomas 饰）前往曼谷为长子收尸。复仇心切的克里斯朵见到软弱无能的次子朱利安不禁怒火中烧，雇了杀手想除掉一系列与比利死亡有关的人。朱利安本想就此放过Chang将此事了结，可是在母亲一步步疯狂的刺激和威逼之下不得不参与进这血腥的杀戮。
　　本片是导演尼古拉斯·温丁·雷弗恩与瑞恩·高斯林继《亡命驾驶》后合作的第二部影片。
