Knight plays Jenny Wright, a convicted murderess paroled in the care of probation officer Griff Marat (Cornel Wilde). What begins as an aloof professional relationship eventually blossoms into romance. The fly in the ointment is shady Harry Wesson (John Baragrey), the gambler who inveigled Jenny into committing murder. The girl is torn between creature comforts offered her by Wesson and the promise of a clean life offered by Griff. This early Douglas Sirk effort contains a smattering of the stylistic touches which distinguished his later work.The screenplay was written by famed director Samuel Fuller, known for his gritty realism and hard-boiled style.

　　Howard Tyler (Frank Lovejoy) is a family man, living in California, who can't seem to get by financially. He meets up with a small-time, but charismatic, hood Jerry Slocum (Lloyd Bridges). Soon, Slocum convinces Tyler to participate in gas station robberies to get by. Later, they kidnap a wealthy man in hopes of getting a huge ransom. Things go wrong when the man is murdered by Slocum then thrown in a lake. Tyler reaches his limit emotionally, and he begins drinking heavily. He meets a lonely woman and confesses the crime while drunk. The woman flees and goes to the police.
　　When the two kidnappers are arrested, a local journalist (Richard Carlson) writes a series of hate-filled articles about the two prisoners which eventually lead to a brutal lynching.
　　The despair of the lower middle-class: A family man ashamed of being unemployed allows himself to be convinced by a gangster to take part in a kidnapping. The police arrests them both and the anger of the small town’s population is unforgiving. THE SOUND OF FURY is a dark crime movie that builds up to an apocalyptic storm, but never loses sight of social realities, thus telling a lot about the daily despair of the working-class. A masterpiece, it was Cy Endfield’s last film before he felt compelled to move to Britain.

Shrike goads Adam into meeting one of his correspondents, Fay Doyle, a teary, self-pitying woman who makes a play for him. Adam is torn between his loyalty to the newspaper and his girl Justy.

　　A man (Young) comes round after a car accident, and realises that a perfect crime is now possible: any movie with this scene can't fail. From this halfway point, the anxious mood of this rare noir thriller thickens fast. Jane Greer and Susan Hayward in turn tempt Young (a spineless louse) from his rich wife (Johnson). We know he's wretched, but is he guilty of murder?

He dies in an accident. Kerwin Mathews palys his son Alan, who comes back to New York after a long absence. He does not understand his fathers angry resistance to t he union, and sympathizes with the union.

　　丹尼·霍金斯的父亲因杀人而被判绞刑，他从而生活在心理阴影中。为了争夺女孩的好感而与人发生了争执，争斗中他意外杀死了对方，并且害怕通知警方。 他赢得了女孩的爱，但是当女孩试图影响他承认自己的罪恶时，他却逃走了。

　　在发现自己女儿比依·哈珀的情人的尸体之后，露西亚将尸体藏匿起来，并断定是她女儿杀死了这个男人。马汀代表他的拍档Nagel前来勒索露西亚之际却为之而倾倒。Nagel想要钱，而马汀为保护露西亚却杀死了Nagel，之后他选择自杀来了断与有夫之妇的露西亚的关系。

　　試想這樣的情境，你搭便車，結果由於要開長時間的車，於是司機跟你輪流開車。輪到你開的時候，開著開著，發現司機居然死了...
　　一不做二不休，將屍體棄置荒野後，你弄成他（有那麼一點點《職業：記者》的橋段，但兩者的出發點與情境完全不同，再說這裡證件上也沒有照片，要變換身份更容易），繼續開著車。當你去加油時，順道載了一個女子，在你還在腦裡想著這女子的美貌時，她居然轉過來對你說，他是該車主的前女友（還是前妻，反正是這樣的關係）！你當然絕望，雖然你老實地說，你根本沒有殺害車主（但誰會相信？）
　　然而更詭異的還在後頭（劇情真的是在不斷迴轉，雖然你只是很單純地想從東岸到西岸跟跑去好萊塢發展的女友結婚），正當你以為你找到一個同夥來解決你的困境，畢竟對你來說，到底車主留下七百多塊還是應該是三千塊，你都不在意，因為你的目的地是去找女友結婚呀。但是她的陰謀卻讓你害怕：車主久未謀面的父親死了，報紙說這家人在找車主來繼承幾十萬的財產...她於是要你假冒到底（這...這似乎在另一部美國片，且有點公路電影的影片中看到類似的情節，在那裡，主角殺害的已經不是原車主，而是另一個貪財之徒，最後他對號入座地到了當地，警方要逮捕的，也就是自稱某某的人，而他以為他因為殺了某某而被定罪，但不然，他是殺了殺某某的人而被捕...無奈吧。然而這到底是哪部片，有人能幫我解答嗎？），但你的良心過不去，畢竟假扮他的這幾天已經夠你累的了。但她卻以報警來要脅你。於是在汽車旅館內發生了另一件離奇死案：隔著反鎖的房，你居然誤殺了她！！
　　連掩飾都不了，現在你只求她的死會反轉回他身上，最好案情就會這樣被猜測：他殺了她，然後不知何因而死於荒地...
　　所以，我想，片名應該翻譯成《迴轉》好了。（文/肥內）
